Fishing Forward™ started as a simple mantra we would use to remind ourselves how to fish. When we wonder if the guy in that boat over there is catching more fish than us... keep Fishing Forward™. When our confidence is shaken because we lost the lure we caught fish on last week... keep Fishing Forward™. When a big fish mysteriously comes unhooked at the side of the boat; when the worst cold-front of the year blows in; when it would be much easier to tell oneself "they just aren't biting today"...keep Fishing Forward™.Fishing Forward™ is about cutting through the clutter of wives tales, folk lore, secrets and luck. Instead, we remain focused on proven scientific facts, careful analysis, steady focus, useful fishing tips and a positive outlook. This is not to say that we're trying to take the fun out of fishing, in fact, the exact opposite is true. After tens of thousands of hours on the water, we can promise you, catching fish is more fun than not catching fish. Successful days of fishing are filled with smiles, laughter, camaraderie and some of the finest memories life has to offer. You'll soon learn that while Fishing Forward™ will present some very useful information, we love to laugh and joke and generally "goof around." Fishing Forward™ is fun!
Most of the information we'll share at Fishing Forward™ will assume that you already possess relative mastery of fishing basics; casting, lure presentations, boat control, etc. We're going to stay focused on the next level, perhaps even the highest level of fishing. While we occasionally review new products or techniques, our primary concern is the study of fish behavior, mental techniques, philosophies and strategies that today's most successful tournament anglers and fishing guides employ to keep them on top. The fact is, everyone can buy the same "hot" lure. With a little digging, everyone can find the lake's "secret spots". Everyone can overhear some "local" information at the dock, coffee shop, or tackle store. Granted, these approaches will work occasionally. Fishing Forward™ will work consistently.
